Events ACW Conference 2007 Workplace matters: Bullying and harassment - An organisational Perspective This year's conferences focuses on the issue of bullying and harassment, one of the problems that is most frequently presented to workplace counsellors. Whilst retaining a counselling focus, the conference will view the counselling intervention in its wider organisational perspective. It brings together experts in the field, who can help facilitate a better understanding of the organisational context of bullying. The conference will also explore the role of counselling in relation to the roles of mediators, HR, coaches, support agencies and the legal system, who also have important roles to play. It promises to be an exciting and thought provoking day. Click here for the brochure for the conference Developing a framework for intervention with people who use bullying behaviour at work' will now be led by Damian Stoupe.
Did you counsel people after the London bombings? The ACW Trauma Network is holding a workshop in London on the afternoon of 14 October for individual practitioners who have been working with people involved in the aftermath of the London bombings. At this stage the Network is eager to find out about individuals' experiences of the different kinds of support that was offered, what seemed to be effective and where changes might be made. The event is still being organised but if you are interested in attending please email Jane Fawcett. Space will be limited. Further information will be available by the beginning of September. Consultation workshops The Association for Counselling at Work's Executive is keen to talk to workplace practitioners and others involved in service delivery about their experiences, challenges and needs for professional support and resources in this setting. Data arising from the workshops will allow the Executive to better target its resources and to align its priorities with those of the membership. Three workshops have taken place so far, in Edinburgh, Cardiff and London. They have been very well attended and feedback from them has been excellent, with participants enjoying the opportunity to network with other practitioners in their area, as well as learning more about the Executive's agenda for the next few years. Further workshops are scheduled in 2004/5 in:
They will run from 5.00-7.30pm and light refreshments will be provided. Further details are available from Julie Camfield, BACP Divisional Administrator at julie.camfield@bacp.co.uk or on 0870 443 5170. ACW Conference 2004
